Python Job: Data Engineering Intern

WHAT YOU WILL BE LEARNING:

In this role, you will be taking on the role of an entry level data engineer. You will primarily be responsible for exploring the Data Warehouse, cataloguing tables, gathering business requirements and creating and/or verifying SQL code. Additionally, you may be called upon to assist the Data Science team in gathering any sources of data they may require to create/improve their models.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

To be successful in this role, technical expertise will be important. A good foundation in Python and SQL will be necessary in order to make the most of the internship. Additional knowledge in software development principles and cloud architecture will also help. From a soft skills perspective, being able to translate vague business requests to readable technical user requirements will really help you set yourself apart in this role. Sometimes, knowing how to ask the right questions is just as important as technical expertise, as the right question can help you save hours of otherwise tedious development time.

This job is remote and requires you to work virtually out of Canada.
